What's new in the Xogogy beta
Every early-access build, newest first. Install a new build over the one you have: your projects are folders on your computer, so nothing you've done is lost.
From the November 4 build, the Mac app is signed and notarised by Apple, so it opens like any other app. On Windows, SmartScreen may still warn once: click "More info", then "Run anyway". In the app, Help › Check for new beta… tells you when a newer build is out, and Help › Report a problem… is the fastest way to tell us something is wrong.
November 5, 2026
Since the beta of November 4. Build 202611052248 on both Mac and Windows; see Help › About. It adds the first seven items below to the earlier November 5 builds (202611051418 and 202611050949).
- Help › Connect your AI is simpler: one Connect button for each AI app you have (Claude, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and VS Code), then one to three short steps and a line to try. Connect Codex installs the Xogogy plugin for Codex.
- The Xogogy extension for the Claude desktop app installs again. The earlier one stopped with "Invalid manifest". If Claude lists an older Xogogy extension, uninstall that first in Claude › Settings › Extensions.
- Your AI assistant works without taking over your screen. It can start a new course, save a course you haven't saved yet, draw a slide, play a slide through and open Preview for you. In the Claude desktop app, the extension now keeps courses in the Xogogy folder in Documents unless you pick other folders.
- Drag-and-drop with pictures works: a dragged image drops onto its target in Preview and in published courses, instead of jumping back.
- Dragging something in Preview no longer brings up the "Drop to import" box. It appears only for files dragged in from outside Xogogy.
- On Windows, installing over an earlier build now replaces the AI connection even while Claude, Codex or Cursor is using it, so your AI app gets the new tools. If your AI app says the Xogogy connection closed, restart it.
- Captivate Classic tab interactions look as they did in Captivate: tab buttons with gradient fills, see-through panels and full-slide shapes show properly, and a group's outline sits around its own items.
- Captivate Classic projects whose slides share a header but not always a footer import again. The first November 5 build stopped on them.
- Slides with a fade no longer slide in from the side and shrink into place. A fade only fades, in Preview and in published courses.
- Captivate text and number entry fields on responsive slides show up, stacked in the slide's column, where they used to say "Object canvas unavailable".
- You can insert a text or number entry field on block slides too (Insert › Input field).
- Captivate header and footer bands sit in one row, as in Captivate, with the slide number at the right.
- Captivate projects with a damaged checksum that Captivate itself ignores now import, and the report says so. A project saved under the wrong file extension imports by its contents.
- Storyline radio buttons and check boxes placed on a slide by themselves, not in a question, come in as working controls.
- Big courses import. Storyline, Captivate and Captivate Classic projects up to 2 GB, video and all, now come in, and when a file can't be imported, Xogogy names the real reason.
- Captivate slides that came in missing content now show it: shapes and lines, button labels, the project theme and backgrounds, header and footer bands, rounded cards with their borders and shadows, video posters, and the live slide name and number. Slides with video keep their full length.
- Captivate text and number entry fields keep their outline and text style.
- Storyline tab and process interactions work as built: a layer hides what it should, button sets behave as a set, and every part of a grouped button reacts together.
- Captivate Classic files that used to stop the import now come in, with captions that had no readable text kept as placeholders.
- The Story view lays a branching course out from its links, instead of one long row.
- Scrolling courses read well on any screen: side-by-side content wraps on a phone, galleries form a grid, Continue buttons look like buttons and step aside once used, and the player bar fits on one line from 320 px.
- Questions look and feel more finished: feedback in your course's text style, cleaner drag-and-drop, sequence and matching, invisible hotspot areas, and keyboard focus moves to the feedback after Submit.
- Block slides edit in place, with no extra step.
- Published courses state their language, so screen readers read them in the right voice.
November 4, 2026
Since the beta of November 3. Build 202611041639 (Mac) and 202611041643 (Windows); see Help › About.
- The Mac app is signed and notarised by Apple: no more "could not verify" message.
- Storyline courses look much closer to the original: theme colours and their lighter and darker shades, slide backgrounds, button labels with the right font and centring, hover and pressed button looks, rounded corners, straight lines, and placeholder text styled from the slide layout.
- Captivate Classic (.cptx) quizzes play on the slide itself. Question text that came in invisible now shows, and matching and sequence questions work as they did in Captivate. Storyline sequence questions play on the slide too.
- You can choose what happens when a learner picks an answer and moves on without pressing Submit: nothing, a reminder, or submit it for them. It's in Course settings › Tracking.
- Rise: galleries come in as carousels, flashcards show only what each side shows, quiz lessons keep their description, and special characters in text display correctly.
- New question slides fill the slide and use your course theme, and an image placed beside text no longer sits on top of it.
- Help › Check for new beta… tells you when there's a newer build, and Help › About shows the build number. You can also have it check each time Xogogy starts; it's off unless you turn it on.
- xAPI packages report correctly when launched the way SCORM Cloud launches them.
- The slide background and master dialogs use the same colour picker as everything else.
Early access runs until December 23, 2026.
