Can I open my Storyline, Captivate, Rise or PowerPoint files?
Yes: Storyline .story projects, Captivate Classic .cptx and modern .cpt projects, PowerPoint slides, published Storyline and Captivate 11 and 12 packages, and published Rise packages. See the migration page. Every import writes a report of what carried over and what needs a look.
Can I import a Rise course?
Yes. Export the course from Rise for an LMS (SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004 or xAPI) or as a web export, and import the .zip. Each lesson becomes a scrolling page of blocks, and a quiz lesson becomes graded questions with a results page. Branching scenarios, Storyline blocks and code blocks are kept as Rise data and listed in the import report. A course in several languages opens in its default language. A package can be up to 4 GB, with up to 2 GB of files inside. See importing a Rise course.
Can I start a new course instead of migrating one?
Yes. Choose New course, pick fixed slides or a scrolling page and a slide size, and build from there. You can also start from a template. See starting a new course and starting from a template.
Do I need Storyline or Captivate installed?
No. Xogogy reads the files directly on your computer and uploads nothing.
Will my imported course look and behave the same?
Xogogy plays your content in its own accessible player, not the vendor's. The import report tells you whenever a feature was approximated, unmapped or had an unresolved answer key. Check the report and play the course in Preview before you publish.
Which LMS standards can I publish to?
SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004 4th Edition, xAPI and cmi5, plus a standalone web package that runs from a folder or a web server with no LMS. Packages contain our player, your course and its media, and no player code from the original tool.
Can I save back to .story or .cptx?
No. Xogogy does not write .story, .cptx or .cpt files. What you keep is your course in an open folder, free to export in full.
Can I mix fixed slides and scrolling pages in one course?
Yes. Each slide is either a fixed slide, where you place objects anywhere with layers, states and a timeline, or a scrolling page of blocks that reflow to fit the screen. Put them in any order. On a scrolling page, pick an Insert item that needs free placement, such as a slider, and Xogogy offers to add a fixed slide for it. On a fixed slide, switch that slide to block layout. The course publishes as one SCORM, xAPI or cmi5 package with one score and one resume point. See starting a new course.
What does it cost?
$299 once for a perpetual Xogogy 1 licence: every 1.x update is included, on 2 computers in any mix of Windows and Mac, with nothing to renew. Xogogy 2 will be a $149 upgrade, free if you bought in the 6 months before it ships. Importing, editing, Preview and exporting your data are free. See pricing.
Does Xogogy send my course to an AI?
No. The app has no AI model, no prompts and no API key, and it never sends your course to an AI service. If you use your own AI agent, you connect it yourself; see agent access.
Can my own AI assistant edit my course, and can I undo what it does?
Yes. Connect the assistant you already use, such as Claude, ChatGPT and Codex, Cursor or VS Code, and turn on Allow assistants to connect. Its changes appear in the open course as they happen, and each one is a labelled step in Edit history. Undo all on the activity card takes back a whole run, and Ctrl+Alt+Z undoes its last change. See letting an assistant edit the open course and undoing an assistant's change.
Can I add my own JavaScript or HTML?
Yes. Add an Execute JavaScript action to an interaction, or a custom HTML interaction. Saving code never runs it, and nothing runs while you import. While you edit, a custom HTML interaction runs only when you choose Play here. Preview runs course scripts inside an isolated frame that cannot reach the app or your files, and Run course scripts turns them off. If that frame cannot start, Preview keeps scripts off and says why. In the published course they run in the learner's browser. See adding your own JavaScript and custom HTML interactions.
What is the difference between a course archive and a published package?
A course archive (.xogogyzip; older ones end in .coursezip and still open) is the whole project in one file: the course, its media and its edit history. Use it to back up a course or send it to another author, who opens it in Xogogy. It is free. A published package (SCORM, xAPI, cmi5 or web) is for learners: it plays in an LMS or a browser, and publishing it needs a licence. See saving a course archive and publishing a SCORM package.
What is the difference between ReviewMyElearning and publishing to my LMS?
ReviewMyElearning is GForce Learning's review service: your reviewers play the course and leave comments on each slide, and you read those comments in Xogogy. Publishing to your LMS gives learners the course and tracks their progress. Both start from Publish… and both need a licence. See sending a course for review and publishing for your LMS.
Does the app phone home?
Only when you start it, and only to GForce Learning's own services: the licence service when you activate or deactivate a computer, start a publish or export (one check that the licence is still valid) or press Check installed licence; the support service when you send Report a problem; and ReviewMyElearning when you publish a course there or read its comments. Everything else works on your computer. There is no automatic update check, no telemetry and no account. Help › Help website just opens the help pages in your own web browser.
Which computers does it run on?
Windows (64-bit) and Macs with Apple silicon (M1 and later). One licence covers 2 computers in any mix: two Windows PCs, two Macs, or one of each. See installing on Windows and installing on a Mac.
What is your refund policy?
