How do I install Xogogy on Windows?

Download the setup file. If Edge says it "isn't commonly downloaded", choose Keep, and Keep anyway if Edge asks again. If Windows shows "Windows protected your PC", choose More info, then Run anyway.

Xogogy installs for your own Windows account in a minute, without administrator rights.

Install the app

  1. #

Back up the course files you plan to import. Xogogy never changes them, but a copy is good practice.

  2. #

Get the installer from the early-access page. Its name includes the version and the build date, and it ends in setup.exe.

  3. #

If Microsoft Edge says the file isn't commonly downloaded. Make sure you trust it before you open it, choose Keep. Edge shows this for any new installer that has no publisher certificate yet. Other browsers may show a similar message.

  4. #

Edge may then ask a second time, in a box that starts Make sure you trust and shows Publisher: Unknown. Open the arrow beside Delete and choose Keep anyway.

  5. #

Open the installer from your browser's downloads list or your Downloads folder.

  6. #

Windows may show Windows protected your PC (SmartScreen), or it may go straight to the setup wizard. If the blue screen appears, choose More info, check that the file is the installer you expected, then choose Run anyway. See What do I do when Windows says it protected my PC?.

  7. #

Follow the installer. It installs Xogogy in your user profile.

  8. #

Start Xogogy from the Start menu.

Xogogy uses Microsoft Edge WebView2. Most Windows 10 computers and all Windows 11 computers already have it. If yours does not, the installer adds it automatically, which needs an internet connection during the install.

Keep your projects safe

  1. #

Save your course projects in your Documents folder, or any folder you choose, not inside the app's own folder.

  2. #

To remove the app, close it and choose Settings › Apps › Installed apps, find Xogogy and choose Uninstall. Your projects stay where you saved them.
