A CSV file is the quickest way to review all your variables in a spreadsheet, or to add many at once. The file has one header row, name, type, initialValue, and one row per variable.
Export your variables
- #
Choose Course settings in the header, then Variables.
- #
Choose Export CSV. Xogogy saves
variables.csvand also shows the rows in a box, ready to copy.
Import variables
- #
Prepare the rows. The first row is
name,type,initialValue. The type istext,numberorboolean. For example:name,type,initialValueLearnerRole,text,ManagerAttempts,number,0TourDone,boolean,false
- #
In Course settings › Variables, choose Import CSV….
- #
Choose Choose CSV file (.csv) and pick your file, or paste the rows into CSV rows (name, type, initialValue).
- #
Choose Apply CSV import. A row whose name is new adds a variable; a row whose name already exists updates that variable's initial value.
If the import is refused
- #
Xogogy checks every row before it changes anything. If one row has a problem, such as a number that is not a number, nothing is imported and the message names the row.
- #
Fix that row and choose Apply CSV import again.
Tip: A whole import is one step in your history, so Ctrl+Z undoes all of it at once.
Quiz and system values are read-only, so an import cannot change them.
