How do I zoom the slide and use guides?

Use Zoom in, Zoom out, Fit and the 100 percent button in the bar above the slide (or Ctrl+plus and Ctrl+minus), and Guides on to snap objects into line.

Zooming changes only your view of the slide. It never changes the size of objects or how the published course looks.

Zoom the slide

  1. #

Use the bar above the slide: Zoom out, Zoom in, or the zoom list, which offers sizes from 25 to 400 percent.

  2. #

Choose Fit to fit the whole slide in the window, or the 100 percent button to see it at its real size.

  3. #

From the keyboard, click the slide first, then press Ctrl+plus or Ctrl+minus to zoom and Ctrl+0 to return to Fit. Ctrl with the mouse wheel zooms too.

  4. #

Fit to window and 100 percent are also on the View tab.

Snap objects into line

  1. #

Check that the bar above the slide reads Guides on. Select it to turn snapping on or off.

  2. #

Drag an object. When it comes within 6 pixels of lining up with another object, it snaps into place and a guide line shows the match.

  3. #

Snap to guides (6 px) on the View tab turns the same setting on and off.

Show the grid

  1. #

On the View tab, choose Grid and guides to show a grid over the slide.

  2. #

Choose it again to hide the grid.

Tip: Need more room for the slide? Choose Hide Slides panel or Hide Inspector panel on the View tab, then choose Fit.
