How do I change how captions look?

In Player properties › Captions, set the caption colours, opacity, font, size, shadow and position for the whole course, then Apply changes.

Captions for video and sound share one look across the course. Out of the box they are white text on a dark band under the slide.

Set the caption style

  1. #

On the Design tab, choose Player, then open Captions.

  2. #

Choose a Caption text colour and a Caption background colour.

  3. #

Set Background opacity (%): 0 is see-through and 100 is solid. Leave it empty for Auto.

  4. #

Choose a Caption font from the font list (click the arrow or type to narrow it) and a Caption size: Small, Medium or Large. Learners can still change the size from the captions button.

  5. #

Turn Text shadow on to outline the letters, which helps with a see-through background.

  6. #

Set Caption position to Bottom or Top.

  7. #

Check the sample caption in the Live preview, then choose Apply changes.

Tip: Xogogy warns you when the caption text has less than 4.5:1 contrast with its background, the WCAG AA level, over a light or a dark slide.

A video or sound with its own caption settings keeps them. To add captions to media, attach a WebVTT file when you insert it. See insert audio and video.
