How do I check my course for accessibility before publishing?

In Publish…, choose Check accessibility. It scans every slide and layer against WCAG 2.2 A and AA rules and shows what to fix.

Last updated

The accessibility check plays your course in a hidden player and tests every screen against WCAG 2.2 Level A and AA rules. It tells you what fails and where, so you can fix it before learners see it.

Run the check

  1. #

Choose Publish… at the right of the ribbon tab row.

  2. #

Under Before you publish, find Accessibility check · optional and choose Check accessibility.

  3. #

Wait while it scans every slide, slide layer, question feedback layer and results layer.

  4. #

Read the scorecard: Screens scanned, Failing criteria, Needs review and Passing criteria.

Fix what it finds

  1. #

Open Failing criteria to see each problem and the slide, layer and object it is on.

  2. #

Close the dialog, go to that object and fix it, for example by adding alt text to an image.

  3. #

Open Publish… again and choose Check accessibility to confirm the fix.

  4. #

Open Needs human review for things only a person can judge, such as whether alt text describes the picture well.

Tip: Choose Download accessibility-report.json to keep a copy of the results with your project. The check never blocks publishing; it is there to help you.

The View tab also has Accessibility check, so you can run it while you edit.
