Custom interactions and course JavaScript
Keep a course's own JavaScript, add custom HTML interactions, and decide what they may read and change.
How do I add my own JavaScript to a course?
Add an interaction, choose the Execute JavaScript action, write your code with course.object and course.variables, then try it in Preview before you publish.
How do I keep and run my course's own JavaScript?
Scripts imported from .story, .cptx, .cpt and published Storyline files are kept. They run in the published course, and in Preview in an isolated frame you can switch off.
How do I add a custom HTML interaction?
Ask your AI assistant to build it, choose which variables it may read and change, then try it with Play here and Preview.
How do I control what outside interactions may do?
In Course settings › Advanced › What outside interactions may do, choose Read or Write for each variable and name the action groups to expose.
