Custom interactions run in a sealed frame. They can only read or change the variables you list here, and only start the action groups you name. Everything else in the course stays out of their reach.
Choose what each variable allows
- #
Choose Course settings in the header, then Advanced.
- #
Open What outside interactions may do.
- #
Find the variable. Choose Read to let interactions see its value, and Write to let them change it.
- #
Add a short description so you, or your assistant, remember what the variable is for.
Quiz and system values can be read but never written.
Expose an action group
- #
In the same section, find the action group under Action groups.
- #
Type a name in Expose as handle and choose Save (or press Enter). Interactions use that name to start the group.
- #
Choose Clear to stop exposing the group.
Tip: Expose all user variables to outside interactions is quick, but it also shares any learner names or other personal data held in variables. Read the privacy notice beside it before you tick it.
Each change here is a normal course edit: labelled, saved with the course and undoable.
