How do I try a custom interaction with Play here?

Select the custom interaction on the slide and choose Play here. It runs in place in an isolated frame, and nothing it does is saved.

Play here runs one custom HTML interaction right where it sits on the slide, without leaving the editor. Use it to check an interaction your assistant built, then carry on editing.

Run an interaction in place

  1. #

Go to the slide with the custom interaction.

  2. #

Choose Play here on the interaction's card on the slide. Or select the interaction and choose Play here in the bar above the slide.

  3. #

The interaction starts in place. Click, type and drag inside it as a learner would.

  4. #

Choose Stop, or press Escape, when you are done.

What Play here does and does not do

  • It runs only that one interaction, inside an isolated frame that cannot reach the app or your files.
  • It works on a throwaway copy of the course's variables at their starting values. Whatever the interaction writes is dropped when it stops, so your course is never changed.
  • It stops by itself when you click elsewhere, change slide, open Preview or edit anything.
  • If the course turns scripts off, the interaction does not run, and Xogogy says so.

Tip: To see how the interaction works with the rest of the slide, interactions and variables included, use Preview.
