Find and replace changes wording across the whole course in one go: on slides and layers, in content blocks, in questions and answer choices, and in slide titles. You see every match before anything changes.

Replace text

  1. #

Click an empty part of the editor so no text field is active, then press Ctrl+F or Ctrl+H (Cmd+F on a Mac). Find… and Replace… are also in the Editing group of the Home tab.

  2. #

Type the words to look for in Find text, and the new words in Replace with.

  3. #

Under Scope, choose where to look: All text, Slide and layer objects, Content blocks, Questions and choices or Slide titles.

  4. #

Tick Match case to match capital letters exactly, or Whole word to skip matches inside longer words.

  5. #

Choose Preview matches. Each match is listed with where it is.

  6. #

Untick any match you want to leave as it is.

  7. #

    Choose Replace selected.

Undo a replacement

  1. #

All the replacements you applied together are one step in your history.

  2. #

Press Ctrl+Z, or choose Undo, to put every one of them back.

Tip: Renaming a product or a team? Run the search once with Whole word ticked and once without, and compare the matches before you replace.
