How do I publish my course as a website?

In Publish…, choose Website, then Download web package. Unzip it on any web server or shared folder; no LMS is needed.

A website package plays from any web server or shared folder, without an LMS. Use it for an intranet, a public site or a quick share.

Publish the web package

  1. #

Choose Publish… at the right of the ribbon tab row.

  2. #

Under Where is it going?, choose Website.

  3. #

Read Before you publish, then choose Download web package. The file name ends in .web.zip.

  4. #

The save dialog starts in your Downloads folder the first time, and after that in the folder you last published to. Once the file is saved, the dialog says where it went, for example Saved My-Course.web.zip in Downloads, with the full path below. Choose Show in folder to open that folder with the package selected, then Close.

Put it online

  1. #

Unzip the whole package into one folder. Keep all the files together.

  2. #

Copy that folder to your web server or shared folder.

  3. #

Open the folder's index.html in a browser to check it.

Tip: A website package does not report completion or scores to anyone. Each learner's place in the course is kept in their own browser. When you need tracking, publish for your LMS instead.
