Why can't my AI assistant see my course?

Open the course in the app, turn on Allow assistants to connect in Settings, and check the course is in your projects folder.

Last updated

Your assistant reaches a course in one of two ways: the course open in Xogogy right now, or a saved course in your projects folder. Work through these checks in order.

If the course is open in the app

  1. #

Check the header. If it says Assistants: off, choose it (or open File › Options › Settings) and turn on Allow assistants to connect.

  2. #

The header now reads Assistants: on, waiting. Ask your assistant again.

  3. #

The first time an assistant connects, Xogogy asks you to choose Allow, Read only or Deny. If you chose Deny or Read only, change it in Settings.

If the app is closed

  1. #

Your assistant can open saved courses only inside your projects folder, normally the Documents › Course Studio folder. That is where Save and Import put a new course unless you choose another place.

  2. #

Move the course folder there, or change the folder in Settings › Connect an assistant and set up the connection again.

  3. #

A course that was never saved cannot be reached while the app is closed. Open it in Xogogy and save it first.

If the assistant does not list Xogogy at all

  1. #

Open Help › Connect an assistant and follow the steps for your assistant again.

  2. #

Restart the assistant app after it is set up.

  3. #

Assistants that run only in a web browser, such as ChatGPT on the web, cannot connect: the connection runs on your computer and opens no network port. Use the desktop app instead.

Tip: The quickest setup is the AI workspace: one folder you open in your AI app, with everything it needs already inside.
