How do I copy animations from one object to another?

Select the object with the animations, choose Animation painter on the Animations tab, then click the object that should get them.

Last updated

Animation painter copies every animation on one object (entrance, exit, emphasis and motion paths) to other objects, so a set of objects can move the same way.

Copy to one object

  1. #

Select the object whose animations you want to copy.

  2. #

Open the Animations tab and choose Animation painter.

  3. #

Click the object that should get the same animations. Press Escape to cancel instead.

Copy to several objects at once

  1. #

Select the object whose animations you want to copy, then Shift+click the other objects.

  2. #

Click the source object once more, without Shift, so it is the main selection.

  3. #

Choose Animation painter. The animations of the main selected object are copied to all the others in one step.

Tip: The target's own animations are replaced, not added to. Press Ctrl+Z to put them back.

Copied emphasis effects and motion paths keep their "play when the slide starts" interaction, so they behave like the original.
