An LMS only marks a course complete when the course tells it to, and the course follows the rule you set. Imported courses often arrive without one, because Xogogy never invents a rule the original did not state.
Check the completion rule
- #
Choose Course settings in the header and select Completion & reporting. A dot next to the section means no rule is set.
- #
In Complete the course when, choose the rule you want, for example View the required slides, Pass a quiz, or View the required slides or pass a quiz.
- #
Fill in the details the rule needs, such as Slides viewed (%) or the Completion quiz.
Check the quiz settings
- #
If the rule uses a quiz, check that Quiz reported to the LMS names the right quiz.
- #
Set Passing score required to Yes if the learner must pass, and check the passing score on the results slide.
Publish and test again
- #
Choose Publish… and check that Completion isn't set up no longer appears under Before you publish.
- #
Download the package and upload it to your LMS as a new version.
- #
Launch it as a learner, meet the rule, and close the course. Check the learner's status in the LMS.
A failed quiz shows as incomplete
Storyline lets an author choose what a failed quiz reports: failed or incomplete. When an imported Storyline course (a .story file or a published Storyline package) chose incomplete, Xogogy keeps that choice:
- SCORM 1.2: the lesson status is incomplete after a failed attempt.
- SCORM 2004: completion is incomplete, and no pass or fail is sent.
- xAPI: no failed statement is sent, and the course is reported as not complete.
A passed quiz still reports as passed. A course that did not state a choice reports failed. To check what your LMS records, run the test in How do I test a package in my LMS?.
Tip: For SCORM 2004, completion and pass or fail are reported separately. If your LMS shows completed but not passed, check the quiz settings above.
If the status is still wrong, write to support@xogogy.com with the LMS name, the package format and the rule you chose.
