How do I find text that does not fit?

Open the import report and read Text that does not fit. Each row names the slide and text box; select it, then choose Fit box to text or resize the box.

A course moved from another tool can end up with text that no longer fits its box, for example when a wider font stands in for a missing one. Xogogy checks every text box in the course and lists the ones whose text is cut off or that run past the edge of the slide.

Run the check

  1. #

Open the import report: select the findings count in the header, or choose Course settings › Advanced.

  2. #

Find Text that does not fit. While the check runs it says which slide it is measuring. It plays every slide and layer in Xogogy's own player, out of sight, on a copy of the course.

  3. #

Read each row. It names the slide, the layer when the box is on one, and the text box, and says what is wrong, for example Text does not fit: about 2 lines cut off or Text box is off the slide.

Fix a box

  1. #

Choose the slide and object name in a row. The report closes and the text box is selected on the stage.

  2. #

Choose Fit box to text, make the box larger, shorten the text, or move the box back inside the slide.

  3. #

Open the report again, or choose Check again in the section, to measure the course as it is now.

When every box fits, the section says Every text box fits and sits inside its slide.

Tip: A row that says a substitute font was measured may fit once the original font is installed. See Fonts not in the project in the same report, or pick fonts the course carries in theme colours and fonts.

Running the check never changes the course and adds nothing to Undo. Text inside block slides grows to fit and is not listed. Text that a trigger or variable changes later is measured as it first appears.
